In business, industries need associations to protect their best interests and to create an environment conductive to growth. Associations serve as a scaffold to build the overall economic success of an industry, to develop positive marketing and media impressions and to defend against harmful allegations that can damage the vitality of an industry. The tea industry looks to The Tea Association of the USA, Inc., The Tea Council of the USA, and the Specialty Tea Institute (STI) for its wholesale and retail needs.
The Tea Association of the USA website, implemented using ColdFusion MX and Microsoft SQL Server 2000, was a joint venture between Mindcore and Weinrich Advertising. The layout was designed and implemented, followed by a host of management features. The site provides content to members and non-members alike, and contains a database-driven back end with custom administration and content management modules. Non-members have access to a wealth of information about all three divisions of the Association, as well as interesting tea facts, industry news and events, and more. Members have access to internal membership lists and contact information via search interfaces, the monthly TeaBits Newsletter, market research, industry reports, financial data, meeting minutes, and more.
A full-featured administration section allows content managers access to:
A large information repository for members and non-members that provides insight and a wealth of knowledge about both tea and the tea industry.
